Assuming it was insured? Of course they did.

UPS'd a rare October 1941 M1 Garand Barrel to the east coast. They bent it. I mean you gotta try like hell to bend 63000 PSI steel.

Well…two weeks later, despite every effort to screw things up by FedEx…dads watch is finally safely in my hands. And no more FedEx for me!

Case closed.

Jesus...I don't think I've ever had them destroy something that much...I did get a UPS package with clear tire marks once, but it was clothing.

Very nice. Just the right amount of patina. That would never leave my wrist. :)

A happy ending, very nice! Classy watch, too.

Very nice! Glad you got it back.

masraum 09-23-2021 05:44 AM

And they didn't find the conflict diamonds and weapons grade plutonium that were hidden in the package?

Glad everything worked out. I despise UPS, and to some degreee FedEx.
Let me tell you about the time UPS smacked up a $15,000 coil winding machine... because I wasn't the shipper, I wasn't "the owner" in their eyes....

Glad you got the watch back. Weird that lying is part of the FedEx playbook.

Not really. If they were trying to catch a smuggler, then would you really tell the recipients "we think you might be the end destination for contraband, so we're inspecting your shipment."

The problem was that they weren't consistent, and they should have chosen something better than "your stuff is destroyed."
