I-phone question
Here’s the scenario:
My phone is on Verizon provided by my employer. I own the phone but the bill goes to them and is not on our family account. I pay Apple .99/month for cloud access for picture storage. My wife’s iPhone is on Verizon on our family account (kids too). Completely separate from mine. For whatever reason, when my wife adds a contact to her phone, it also appears on mine. If I delete the contact, it disappears from her phone too. It only happens with contacts, not pictures, etc. My contacts do not appear on her phone. Any suggestions? |
It sounds like you and your wife are using the same Apple account.
Check the account details in the settings of the two phones. Is it logging into the same Apple account? |
No, but I think we’re sharing the same cloud account. I just disabled sending contacts to the cloud on my phone (hers was off) but no joy.

Yeah, normally, each person would have their own accounts. I think it's possible for family to share info back and forth without using the same account.
It seems like you guys may need to use separate accounts. |
Think I fixed it, but not sure why. Under “groups” we both had checked “all gmail”. I unchecked that on mine and her contacts disappeared from my phone but not hers.

You don't want to share an iCloud account.
If you want the benefits of sharing but without affecting each other set up a family plan. |
