Another Hot Rod

My friend down the street seems to be able to turn out these Hot/Rat rods three or four a year. He has a lot of fun, I'm sure.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1631994602.jpg

I don't know where he comes up with this stuff, makes most of it I guess. Never saw a piece of junk he didn't like. Sees things differently than me.

Love that. Any idea what that started as?

rfuerst911sc 09-18-2021 12:23 PM

I would gladly drive that , well done . Even better if it's a diesel 😊

Those COE's make the coolest hotrod transporters.

Looks like a 38 or 39 Ford to me, but I'll ask him next time I see him

went over for a chat.,

It is indeed a '38 Ford COE, sitting on a chevy camper chassis 350 gas with a FEW other parts thrown in. It's not quite finished he says with a grin.

It's one of a kind he says, my reply …. -"all your stuff is one of a kind",

"Yeah, that's the way I like it."

Jeff Higgins 09-18-2021 01:55 PM

Very cool. I have to say, though, I always wonder how much cooler things like this would be if the builders actually finished them. You know, like they used to - paint, interior, that kind of thing.

This whole "rat rod" thing was, at first, a cool idea. The first, oh, couple thousand of them I saw seemed new and unique. Not so much anymore.

I just drove all though NB and NS. Didn't see a single hot rod. :(

Question passing through my mind today after watching a parade of hot rods at goodwood today.

Why are they called "hot rods"?

was it pushrod valvetrains made for higher RPM, and thus "hot rods"?

because 'warm stick" wasn't aggressive enough.
