Free the mountain lion in the trap.

Hopefully, he's not the guy that set the trap, but even if he is, 1 Way to go dude, and 2 here, you need one of these.

He's lucky the kitty didn't work out some frustration on him when he got done.

Maybe the cougar will bring him some treats, like a rabbit.

OOOLD!

That guy was trapping coyotes and caught the lion by accident. There is a reason the guy has a snare pole. He is not an animal rights activist. That said, he could have just offed the cat and nobody would have known the difference out there on the range. It likely would have been against the rules, so kudos for that.

Mountain lions are fascinating and elusive but by all means not an endangered species, no matter what "animal rights" people will tell you. They are legally hunted in most western states.

How about hunting coyotes like we do. Use a dying rabbit call and they come from all over running and we put them down quickly with a varmint gun. I think trapping any animal by the paw is not an ethical or humane thing to so. That being said I probably wouldn’t have the balls to release this cat. I would have put it out of its misery from a safe distance.

The video is incredible but that could have gone either way...

If it was me I would have called the wildlife people.

That looks similar to giving medicine to my 10lb housecat.

Haha. My last cat scared me. I once had to put her in a kennel. She scratched and clawed everything. She managed to drag into the cage with her, a pair of my wife’s panties. When we dumped her out at the vet, he was, “uhhhh, these yours?” My wife snatched them up so fast and glared at me.

RIP hell-cat.

He may not want holes in the coat. Some people trap for selling furs and create income. I agree that trapping with foot hold traps is rough on the animal. That said, I am always hesitant judging others engaging in legal hunting and trapping activities. Anti hunting activists purposely try to divide hunters by picking off the fringe activities. If you condemn coyote trapping today, you are opening the door to calling coyotes becoming illegal in the future. I mean, shooting an animal and not eating it can be considered cruel and unnecessary too? Where does it end?

I loved the ex wife comment. Gold.
