Apple Air-Tag?

i've been thinking about these things? any real life experiences?

i want to stick one to my Kayak, so my wife can check in on me..or look for me should i disappear. or my kayak gets stolen.

they seem almost too good to be true. seems like a very efficient "low jack" system.

They look awesome, but I think would be limited to areas with cell reception. Might be fine for the areas you go though.

It’s the same concept as the Tile trackers. The limitation with those is that they only “phoned home” when in range of someone using the tile app, where as the AirTags do that anytime an Apple device is around.


As much as you go out alone, have you considered a SPOT or an inreach mini or a Zoleo? That way she can track you, you can “check in” and you have an emergency button if something were to happen.

Another thought if it’s just about the wife knowing if you are still on the water or heading home. If you are in cell range, and both have iPhones, is the Find My friends app, or Life360 if you don’t both have iPhones. Great way to know where the other is in situations like this.


Just don’t tel her you are going “fishing” and then go to the titty bar.
