Here is an interesting Boxster S, local to me .
Maybe optimistic at that price, but who knows. Pretty cool, a basically brand new 2001 S, in yellow .

I understand low miles but that is a ton of money. There is a local to me 2001 Boxster S for $20000 cdn which is about $16000 us. Sure the latter has more miles but I don't see a 2001 Boxster as appreciating much. An early Cayman maybe with manual trans.

Wow, $42k for a car with an "R" title which I would think would still ding the value similar to a salvage title. I'm sure it's a great car, but wow.
8 years ago, I bought my 2008 Boxster S RS60 Spyder with 21k miles for less than that. |
It would have made a killer race car before the title was cleaned up . Wonder what he paid for it ?

I know that back in the day, the yellow miatas were highly desirable. I don't know (have never heard) of the yellow boxsters being similar.
It would have made a great chassis to base a race car on, but it would also be a shame to let a time capsule car be gutted. I guess if you could get it cheap enough. Definitely a weird situation all around. I will be surprised if it goes the way that guy is hoping. |
