Patio heaters?

Any insight on propane powered patio heaters? The pyramid style looks cool but reviews i've seen indicate it's more a show than a heater. We have a decent sized open porch we'd use it on. Getting a bit chilly out and would like to extend my think while i drink and enjoy the tunes time.

We have one of the table top and one of the large round ones. They both kick off a ton of heat in a big area and work very well. Make sure no bugs build nests in the orifices though! I’ve read the same about the fancy Pyramid ones as you have, which is why I went with the conventional round radiant ones.

Sat under those pyramid heater on the patio at the beach couple weeks ago. We nearly froze our azzes off. Little heat came out of them. The mushroom or hat looking ones are great because it redirect heat right back down to where its needed most. Great portable heaters.

We went to an outdoor wedding for my nephew (first weekend of October) a few years back. Unfortunately, a tropical storm that moved up from the Gulf lowered temps to 50* with a 25 mph wind, and rain. If it weren't for the mushroom style heaters around the enclosed tent, it would have been miserable....no experience with the pyramid heaters though.

My pyramid works ok on a large covered porch, but on a true patio it'd likely be useless.

Well don’t order from grainger! Costco has the same thing for like $150! https://www.costco.com/fire-sense-patio-heater.product.100296466.html

it’s ok if it isn’t the slightest bit windy. if it is, the heat simply blows away from you mine is not anchored to the ground. despite this, it’s been outside for 2 years in major storms and has yet get blown over these things eat through propane quick. i only use it once in a while

 | This type you see at some restaurants really put out the heat and don't take up space on your patio. Kind of expensive though. I have a couple of pyramids, they produce nice lighting and look good but not much heat unless you huddle around it. | ||
