Well we know why he got the job..no one else wanted it.

I have no desire to go to NYC..or anyother major city for that matter. I dont want to be part of an ant hill.

Then NYC has De Blasio..who.blames the victims of crime for being robbed..if ya move to NYC you are gona need Snake Plisskin...cause it is gona get real bad.

Right. That's why almost no one lives/works there.

What I would do, and still do when I visit is you try as much as possible to walk in the street, in the lane with oncoming cars. Between red lights you can make up some serious distance and not fight with the humans. When the cars come, you hop back on the sidewalk. I learned this right away after running into a very large man while I had a cigarette in my mouth. I put it out right on his chest and he was not happy. I never saw him coming.

When I was on W29th, on roller blades I'd make my way over to 6th and skate between lanes racing the cars heading up to Central Park. God NYC was such a blast 20 years ago.

I got myself a harley for my 30th b day and would get up at 5 am and blast down broadway when all the lights were green and end up in time square all alone with my straight pipes echoing off the buildings. man i had fun. riding my mt bike and skate board down the bike path along the west side highway.....that was awsome.

Love it! NYC has so much to offer.

These haters have absolutely no idea what NYC is about. None.

911boost 10-06-2021 10:03 AM

Last time I was there was for the Bobby and Phil shows at Radio City. Took my kids and we had a great trip there.

I would not call them haters, some people like me need the wide open spaces to fully relax.

ramonesfreak 10-06-2021 10:05 AM

and probably never had a hot pastrami at Katz's which is reason enough to live there for some period of time anyway

I had to commute there for several years - quarterly. Live on top of someone else, and where am I going to put my cars, tools and stuff, exactly?

No way.

and you do? However, it does take a particular personality to live in any BIG city. NYC does have a lot to offer but it takes a lot in return.

No you don't, they see everything and a bunch of them are retired cops so they will drop dime on your ass at the drop of a hat.

Every doorman on every episode of Law & Order ever has been a damn snitch.

Some need green, not necessarily wide open space, but it helps. Three-day visits to the city last me 8-10 years before I think of returning.

What does it take in return?

Money, a certain tolerance for crowding, noise and what seems to be an endless parade of political issues. Full disclosure I don't do well in cities, never have. I don't get the allure of big city living so FWIW it takes something out of me whenever I visit them.

So, by making all that noise with your ILLEGAL exhaust you were giving everyone within earshot a great big ole middle finger at 5 am, telling them all that your desire to be loud and obnoxious was much more important than their reasonable expectation of peace and quiet and sleep.

ramonesfreak 10-06-2021 11:56 AM

^^^^ its NYC. You have no reasonable expectation of peace or quiet. Seriously.

But yea, i was a 30 year old maniac and ive paid my debt to society trust me

Tim Hancock 10-06-2021 12:01 PM

I was only there once in the late 80's... Me and a friend rode our motorcycles from Ohio there to stay a few nights free in my mother and sister's summer apt. My little sis was a model for Ford Agency for two summers there. My mother and sister loved it, but it was not for me. Walking the streets it smelled like garbage everywhere. The subways all smelled like urine. Walking around times square was fun for a couple hours, but I truly could never live in such a place even if it no longer smells like garbage and urine like it did back then. I can't stand any cities now and much prefer the freedom and peace/quiet of living in a rural area. I don't get the attraction for some but as I stated earlier, my mom and little sister loved it.
