Cyber Attack? Something big is happening..

Facebook and their social media spinoffs, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Amazon, and more are all reporting outages now. This is the biggest crash I've seen, and it's global which is wild.

Also, Whistleblower comes out, system goes down for hours. Coincidence?

The server needed a thorough scrubbing to make sure nothing to support the allegations is found..

Routing issues.... oh, and older devices that haven't had SSL keystore updates and older browser installs, etc. started having issues on 9/30 when a old root certificate expired.

I don’t have any social accounts, but I did notice the Internet was a little wonky today.

I don’t know if it’s related, but now when I go to my work mail only on my phone, my screen has a pop up box asking for my email password. I close it out, but every time I enter it in settings, it says it’s unable to verify it.

This was a perfect illustration of how easy it is to cripple the Net.

Everything switched off around 3 am here... The internet looked OK but Faceplant, Twittsville et al was down.
- I was expecting a big flash in the sky.

Would "they" switch everything off just before launch or would the nukes fry everything? (Does it even matter?)

To think we live in a world that could be ended at any moment.

Sorry , but FB isn't the "Net". However, it does show how the inside isn't always as shiny and cool and sopbisticated as the outside. Somebody messed uo bigtime.

Turns out, it was a routing BGP (border gateway protocol) issue.
