600 lb elk with a spare tire

Glad the elk is ok , can't imagine carrying that around your neck 24/7 .

Propaganda.

Look through the original Colorado article. Game and fish cut off his antlers thinking the tire would slip off. Head too big. Antlers cut off. They then cut the tire off head.

Botched

Antlers appear to still be on his head while they are trying to cut through the tires, at least in one of the pics...

Maybe the site that told you it was propaganda is propaganda??

Botched.

That Bull has to have neck muscles like Hulk Hogan now,, with the loss of the tire and a new rack next year, LOOK OUT! He's gonna mess some other Bulls up I bet.

They say the cut the antlers off.

They couldn't cut through the bead of the tire.

“It was tight removing it,” Murdoch said of pulling the tire off the bull’s neck, even after cutting its antlers off. “It was not easy for sure, we had to move it just right to get it off because we weren’t able to cut the steel in the bead of the tire. Fortunately, the bull’s neck still had a little room to move.

We used a bolt cutter to cut the bead. Band saw up to the bead.

Ever tried to cut a tire or just the bead with a sawzall? In either direction? Kind of difficult to be successful even without an elk attached.

What's your beef with this? The fact that they kept the rack?

There are a few internet pics of deer/elk/moose hanging from transmission wires 100ft in the air.

When they pull them tight over distance, a few curious stragglers are bound to happen.
Wildlife tries adapt to human intrusion and survive.
But it is a learning process.

^^^^ True. Its a major chore to cut a tire bead. Better have a lot of batteries for that sawzall.

^^Exactly.

I imagine that tire was pretty tight around the Bull's head and the trank has a time limit. No time for ******* around. I mean if they were just going to poach the antlers, they wouldn't have bothered with trying the tire first nor, photo documenting the poach.

Big tooth blade cuts through rubber.
Fine blade cuts though steel wires.
