My Arm hurts
Not as bad as the last Moderna injection
All phase 3 Moderna Study people are being given a third shot. Group A - Regular Shot Group B - Gamma Variant Group C - Delta Variant. While I should be in group "W", I'm in "A". Almost 24 hours later and not feeling much. Just tired. So far, not as bad as shot#2 https://media1.tenor.com/images/c084...temid=13984228 |
I half expected it to be a pick of one of those skateboard guys who falls and looks like he's got a second elbow in the middle of his forearm.
It'll be a while before the missus and I are ready for the third shot, I think. Isn't the time frame at least 6 or 8 months? |
Sorry to hear you're feeling some negative effects again, James. I didn't experience anything with my two shots. I'm scheduled for my booster in a couple of weeks.

Pfizer https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/israeli-study-says-the-pfizer-vaccine-is-losing-effectiveness-but-some-experts-think-it-s-a-fluke/ar-AAMEngS Moderna https://www.upi.com/Health_News/2021/09/14/covid19-moderna-vaccine-booster-unneeded-study/3011631641058/ In the above study, it looks like with Moderna, you may not need a booster. J&J https://news.yahoo.com/j-j-says-second-shot-104636759.html The data seems to indicate that it should also have been a 2 shot vaccine all along. But they were trying to make a "one and done" vaccine. And the Data they supplied to the FDA was for the one and done dosing. In discussions yesterday at TCDD, when I got shot#3, Moderna used twice as much vaccine per shot as Pfizer. The Phase 2 study was used to determine the dosage. Pfizer went with a small dosage to reduce reactions yet produce "significant" antibodies. Moderna went with the lowest dosage that produced maximum antibodies. The good news, all three still prevent most hospitalizations and death even after 6 months under the original dosing. TCDD is running the vaccine trials for all three "approved" vaccines plus Novavax. The two other guys I convinced to join the original study are now in the "Group C" study. My Wife is also joining the "Group C" study. I would have preferred to be in "Group C", but they needed people to be in the 3 different groups, especially people from the original Phase 3 study. My wife was not in the study previously. |
Not from the covid shot...but similar situ.
Watching the news yesterday...they were saying time is closing on getting the flu shot for this season. So...I went to get one in the afternoon. The gal had the needle almost in my arm before she said..."You're fortunate...you qualify for the enhanced shot" I told her about the two day headache I had from the last enhanced one. She said that just means you already have a good immunity built up. So why should I get the shot then? Woke up at 3am today with a splitting headache. Eating aspirins like candy. :( |
If you really want your arm to hurt try the Yellow Fever injection. Had to have 2 back in the day to take an assignment in Europe. We all knew when someone had gotten the shot because they always walked around protecting their arm. It hurt so bad and heaven forbid someone touched your arm. Plus the flu like symptoms that accompanied the shot was very nice too.

According to the TCDD people I spoke to back in February when I had shot#2 (My September 2020 shot were placebo), they said that most people over age 70 had little to no reaction to the shots. The strongest reactions were for younger people. Last February, I was "down" for about 6 hours with a slight fever and cold extremities. Not "chills", just cold extremities. That was at about 22 hours after. I'm at 23 hours after and I'm not feeling anything but a bit tired. I am taking a fairly large dose of Advil and Tylenol for a knee problem. I expect that has helped the reactions. |

If a vein is injected, the chances of Myocarditis can occur ????
|
I had the Shingles vaccine a few weeks ago - man, that was way worse than my two shots of Pfizer vaccine. Looking for my Pfizer booster now.

(Bloomberg) -- Iceland is joining its Nordic peers in halting inoculations with Moderna Inc.’s Spikevax shot on concern over side effects. The Moderna jab, which has mostly been used in Iceland for second doses, won’t be used until more information over its safety has been collected, the chief epidemiologist said on Friday. |

Our nextdoor neighbor has a married son . That son's father in law recently had a J&J vaccine shot because it was mandated by his place of employment . Within a day he was paralyzed from the waist down and admitted to the hospital . This all happened this week and he's still in the hospital . I had not heard of a reaction as serious as this and I don't know if the doctors have confirmed that the cause is the shot .
My wife and I get our yearly flu shots , we have both received shingles shots and earlier this year the Moderna shot. Knock on wood no complications . Work with your doctor , get educated and make the decision that's right for you and your family . |
My arm will hurt tomorrow. Going for Tres shot.
