 The acting, directing, and writing would be considered poor if it came from a collegiate drama class, but it's still somehow addicting. Or maybe there's just nothing else of any value left on netflix. |

Just watched season 1 of On call. It kind of reminded me of Southland, which I really liked. This show follows a training officer and her trainee in one patrol car in Long Beach. I thought it was gritty and realistic, but I'm not a qualified judge of that. Only 8 episodes of 30 minutes, Amazon couldn't negotiate a less expensive second season, so the producers are trying to make a deal with Peacock or someone else. I liked the show a lot, and there's room for it to grow. Watching the trailer below won't give away too much, but I'd recommend going in cold for an episode or two.

Two weeks ago I binged Stick on AppleTV until I ran out of episodes. I'm taking a break before I come back to the two episodes that are already out.
It's basically a more serious Happy Gilmore. Like Edge of Tomorrow is a more serious Groundhog Day. |

Who wants to be a millionaire was always a show I watched with Regis...a good show.
Watched it a couple days ago with Kimmel hosting and Matt Damon as a contestant. The fake feud between those two wrecked the show entirely. It was embarrassing to the viewers.

The Chris Isaak Show is streaming on YouTube. Chris and his band play themselves in a sitcom with one outside actor in there. I enjoyed it quite a bit when it aired, but I'm a fan and think Chris is funny. His music talk show was short-lived, but excellent IMO, The Chris Isaak Hour.
