NOT parent of the year material

I heard about some friends of a friend, last name of Hisscock. They just had a baby boy and named him Holden. I'm not lying.

LOL .... it won't end there either....

Ms Holden Hisscock :D

"Sue" wasn't that bad after all...

URY914 10-15-2021 11:58 AM

Better then naming him "Jack"

Junior High must have been hell for the poor bastard...

So “Chuck” Mawhinney lives here in town. He named his kid Holden. I don't think anybody who knows who Holden's father is, would ever, ever make fun of that kid.-WW

Peter Holder and his dad was Richard.

speeder 10-15-2021 04:47 PM

That’s almost like Barry McCockener.

I’m such an adult. :)

Capt on one of my dad’s Deployments was named Harry Dyck…

I have to wonder if some parents do it on purpose…

flatbutt 10-16-2021 04:38 AM

Ivory White, a classmate of mine in high school.

The Holes lived just down the street from me.
They named their first son Harry. :)

I lived in Anchorage for several years. Mr Whitekeys who owned the Fly by Night club on Spenard had a nightly show and part of his show was talking about a dude in Fairbanks he found in the White Pages......

Richard Flopalotofit.

My nephew's 6th grade teacher....Miss Rhoda Dyck!
....I kid you not!

I've posted before, my wife's maiden name is Horny. Not a typo. We found numerous headstones in Alsace where family immigrated from that spelled it 'Horney'.

Father in law: Ben

My wife got a kick out of it. Some of the younger nieces did not.

Had to revive this thread for one more...

The managing director of Triumph (before being acquired by British Leyland in 1960) was a fellow named...ready for it...Alick Dick. True story.

WTF were his parents thinking

A woman friend, H. Love, married my buddy, G. Cox.

Despite out best efforts to convince her to do it, she opted out of hyphenating her name.

A bit more gentile: went to high school with a girl named Crystal Chanda Lear.

Dick Trickle? "It's OK honey, he'll be good enough at something that people accept him."

I dated a girl in college, last name Cox. She roomed with a girl, last name "Seamen".

Yup, the House of Cox and Seamen. In an all-girl's dorm.
