Are all event tickets really e-tickets now?

I'm going to the F1 race in Austin this weekend. I purchased tickets and parking pass about 6 months ago. Rather than receive a FedEX package with nice pretty tickets and parking passes, I've receive E-tickets and still haven't gotten parking passes.

I emailed them and finally heard back yesterday. I said I wanted nice tickets for souvenirs like you'd get for going to the Superbowl and the guy said even Superbowl tickets are E-tickets now. Is that true?

I still haven't received my parking pass but he said they would be E-tickets too. I asked what am I supposed to do, leave my phone on the dash?

Austin is also my first experience with an eticket for a race.

Like you, I'm a little bummed I don't have a real ticket as a token.

You may want to discuss this with Dr. Rick from Progressive. :)

I feel your pain. I was late to the party too. It really is much easier once you get the hang of it.

Our season football tickets are now e-tickets. I liked the paper tickets for souvenirs also.

OK, that ad cracks me up, too.

I would assume this case is no different than most...follow the money. I would guess e-tickets are WAY cheaper to manage vs. physical tickets

Remember to park close to the gate so you can get out quick.

And they charge you a "Convenience Fee" for them.

As in, it's really convenient for us to extract stupid fees from you so you can print your tickets yourself and save us all those manufacturing and distribution costs.

****ers

I went to The Gorge for 3 shows in Washington this summer. I got actual cool paper tickets that were not plain at all.

Well that’s not entirely true because if they did offer a paper ticket, the fee would be $X times 10” for a hard copy.

We were joking about that this morning.

The parking pass is what really has me concerned. Without that I might as well not have tickets.

As an aside: I upgraded from my trusty old iphone 8 to a 13 yesterday so my phone doesn't die while I'm in line for the track ;) If I was younger I wouldn't worry about that but if I was younger I also wouldn't understand what the big deal is about spending a $1,000 every couple years for a new phone.

When we went to see Cirque du Soleil they did e-tickets, and suggest we print them out and have them with us. At the venue they just scanned in the paper ticket and in we went.

How slow is the track entry queue?

We went the first year that it was here. Getting in wasn't bad, but getting out was a beyotch. Lots of folks started leaving 30 mins before the end of the racing.

Of course, things are probably VERY different by now.

Oklahoma football has been with E Tickets for a couple of years . The first couple of games it was a pain in the butt, lately hasn't been bad.

NFL is 100% E Ticket.

The queue isn't really that bad especially since people are arriving all day.

If you have a bag it will be longer.

Our parking passes were physical passes and came in a package, that was maybe 2, 3 weeks ago? You should have them by now...

I also did get the extra physical race tickets, because I'm an idiot and figured I might want to show them to some bratty kids in 40 years when we're all driving hydrogen cell hoverpods around.

I just purchased tickets to two concerts and you could do e-tickets for no charge, will call for $4 or they mail you tickets for $14- no option to print them yourself.

David 10-20-2021 01:20 PM

I just got my E-parking tickets. My blood pressure has dropped.

I was just talking to a co-worker who says Texans games are like this now for parking and game tickets.

He also said no cash allowed at games. What's an old guy to do! Do strippers take cash any more?
