Whoops!

The water level in the turtle pond was too high...makes it easy for them to escape by getting up on the overhang.
Yesterday, I decided to pump out 2 or 3 inches of it, with my Lil Giant 1/4 hp submergible pump with an outlet hose into the lawn.

When it was low enough, I unplugged the pump and went on to other jobs around the yard.

About 4 hrs later, I went to the pond to put the pump away and looked in....the water was all gone! Even though I had unplugged the pump..it kept siphoning till it was empty. The fish were flopping around on their sides and the turtles were walking around like they found a new world.

So..I decided to move them inside for the winter....It's almost here anyways.

They're in the basement and the stock tank has a good filter. Once a month, I rinse it out.
No...a Petco has more of a smell...prob because of the numbers they have.

Good time to vaccinate.

did the fish survive, or did you have fish for dinner?

^^^ I still remember helping my G'pa preparing box turtles for eating.
A wood block and a sharp hatchet.
I'm not sure how it was cooked..but it always tasted good.

They must...when I put freeze-dried shrimp in their bowl...they eat it like candy!
Their hearing is good also.
