Just One Of Those Days
 

In September, I got a call asking if I could play at the Legion on November 5th. Sure, see you then.
Yesterday I was driving through town and noted that the name on the sign wasn't mine. A few phone calls revealed the guy who had done the booking had screwed up. I said they should let it ride, as the sign was up and the posters were in place.
Two hours later the phone rings again. The other guy can't play. Could I make it?
Yeah. Don't forget to change the sign.

I know this happens to some people all the time. My wife says she probably would have told him to go F himself, but life is too short and the town is too small.
How do you handle other people's screw ups?

This afternoon I was in town again. The sign still hasn't been changed!
You could have heard my eyes roll from inside the building.
Come to think of it, last winter I opened a set by saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight the part of (name on the sign) will be played by me, Les. Of course if they think the show sucked, they might blame it on the guy whose name they read on the sign outside. :D
If you guys don't tone down some of the set suggestions, I won't be able to use any of them. Maybe I should write something...
