Don't care who started what. Drop the "lefty, righty" bullsh.t. You want to talk politics or left vs right, we have a forum just for that. OT is NOT that forum.

Bob, I get it, you don’t like me. That’s cool. I did not start anything. Someone brought politics in a thread that wasn’t about politics, then they started thrashing the state as if there weren’t crazy laws in other states. It gets old. Notice, however that I never called anyone a name. I just said the comment was stupid. Sorry if that makes me the bad guy.

In what other state would things like this happen? How about this one (Andrew Cachu):

"...A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has ordered that a convicted murderer be released from prison after serving just six years of a 50-year prison sentence when a prosecutor refused to call witnesses during a disposition hearing. This effectively kept the case in the juvenile court system on orders from District Attorney George Gascón...."

"... Kathy Cady, an attorney for the victim’s family, spoke out to say that Judge Brian C. Yep indicated Deputy District Attorney Alisa Blair’s decision not to present any evidence was intentionally aimed at securing Cachu’s release.

“The victim’s family is devastated and feels abandoned by the justice system,” she lamented. “They feel that what has happened is not justice...”

Only when I lived in California.

Gotta love our high gas tax, income tax, woke schools, sales tax, property taxes, high real estate, overly aggressive COVID mandates (5 yr olds), death penalty gone, myriad of liberal Da’s not holding criminals accountable. Sanctuary city.
There’s been a fairly mass exodus, unfortunately the wrong people are leaving.

It’s blatantly clear liberals are to blame....

Tim

Sounds like utopia to me.

As they all turn out to be. I love it here. It’s not perfect but what place is. Attachment 10592

No one hates the state, just the opposite (or they would not post their dismay at the destruction)...they hate how certain lousy politicians are ruining it and are shocked that so many defend them and the ruination they bring. We would all love to live there if not for what it has become. No one has complained about the natural beauty or climate...so posting photos of that in a thread discussing the blatant widespread acceptance of brutal crime by local officials is simply misdirection.

upsscott 11-08-2021 05:42 PM

If it was what you say it is I wouldn't be here. Like I said, it's not perfect but what place is?

Therein lies the problem. It was pretty perfect...and has been intentionally ruined to the point that many of us choose to leave/not return. No place is absolutely perfect or expected to be, but we also complain about similar destruction being exported to where we live...places not blessed with the natural beauty and resources that California has been blessed with.

Haha I'm sure we all could pick apart whatever utopian compound you live in. California is not ruined. That's crazy talk. We have the largest economy in this great country and fifth in the world. Our federal taxes probably pay for whatever the state you reside in takes away. Those are just the facts. I'm sure wherever you live is very nice and that's great but just keep your passive aggressive gaslighting in check. I've been all over this country and seen some fine places. I wouldn't rank any of them above California.

We'll just let you think that while you ignore the elephant in the corner.

...and the biggest illegal population, the biggest homeless population, the biggest welfare roll and a massive amount of crime...none of which is necessary in a state blessed with an almost perfect climate, endless natural resources, and massive seaports.
