You guys see the hype on the new z06 high rev Corvette?

Looks pretty fierce, looking at the bmwesque valve train and the high revs, first American car I would consider buying since driving age. They seem low in b/s factor, I like that. Anyhow, Jay Leno has the vid out

Glorious engine. Solid drivetrain. Body design by a spider on acid. Ugliest vehicle to come out of GM since the aztek.

I agree with black3.2. Ugly as hell, too gimmicky. Like a Type R Civic.

I think it is a handsome car....a little busy but that was the goal, I believe. I would be happy to have a new Z06 in my garage.

Let's see some track numbers

You can gush and hyperventillate all you want about BESPOKE this and that, I bet this car smokes just about everything else at twice the price. GM finally threw down the gauntlet.

styling is just that, but aerodynamics rule at 150+ lets see the lift and drag numbers, relax trannies, were talking vehicle performance, not frequency or aerodynamic penetration.

But, where are you going to exercise it - wish i could.

Bespoke - get a grip.............................................. ...................

I think, after following a new vette in traffic, that the designer quit at the rear wheels. Ugly azz. Most likely the only view you'll ever get of a Z-06.
The trim treatment and color around that giant hole in the quarter makes a
huge difference visually.
Of course that would be only my opinion.
My OPINION could be changed by about 10 or 20 mins. at VIR if anybody with one
wanted to try to make a Vette guy out of a Porsche guy.

The golf bag trunk was clearly an afterthought and the extra bulk imbalances it. The rest of it needs editing badly.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t get one in black.

The difference with the Type R is that at least the Vette has basic forms and proportions mostly right, where the Civic is a cumbersome mess. And the Vettes bone lines aren't broken and awkward curves.

Granted there are too many creases and plane breaks and bonelines, but it wouldn't take much erasing to make it better.

The Civic is a lost cause!

I think it’s pretty awesome that a car like that could be made for 100k .
The “normal” version at its price was a feat in itself , and I’ve been waiting for the hot version to appear right from the off .
It’s a bit strong saying Europeans haven’t ever seen a “small” cc flat plane v8 before , but nevertheless , as long as the cooling and reliability is there the car is a winner in my book .

Just think, you can sell your classic Porsche for $100k and buy a new vette. What will these be worth in 5 years? ....or 20? Does it matter?

Agreed. The rear of the Stingray and the Z06 look like a Camaro. I recently sold my C7 Z06, which I loved. Tons of power but not always good at putting that power down. The new one will be much better at that.

The reality of Z06 ownership is that you'll have an unusual car for 1-2 years and then the market will be flooded. Maybe that will be different with supply constraints? As always the Z06 will be an incredible value with some trade offs. Unfortunately, the current lists to buy one are incredibly long with significant ADMs. Not unlike the 992 GT3 situation. Which sucks.

This P-car supply crunch is bad timing for us as we were planning to order a car this season.

Seriously considering a C8 as a fun diversion until we can order the Porsche we want…

I would like it a lot better if it looked like a 250LM . . .

The engineering that went into this finished product is astounding. The motor is making 192.8hp/liter...

I think were in for countless videos of it embarrassing the euro leaders on track

The new corvette is something but to me an old guy (78 this week), it looks to much like a european car. I think it's lost it's unique american styling.

Here are mine. Yes a couple of european ones but they are those old styles I have always loved. Now that I'm retired I can enjoy these.
