Good for you!

It’s always a plus to assist. Maybe I’ll try that next time for extra points.

All three of our Dyson's have worked great for 10 plus years. No complaints!

zakthor 11-11-2021 06:55 AM

Every dyson I’ve seen/used was a giant pos, they were corded but just expensive junk. Maybe there’s a premium model that’s different? Cheaply made from hard plastic and Not much suck? I don’t see any merit to them.

We have lots of stairs. 20 years ago I noticed the cleaners at work ran supercoach backpack vacuums all night every night. Found the local distributor, bought one and we’ve been delighted. Bags are cheap, hepa, great with stairs and has been indestructible. Is a comfortable, easily portable shop vac.

Corded for main jobs. Inherited grandmas Kirby, gen4 i think. Over 35 years old and still sucks.
Has auto transmission that assists. If your vacuum has great suction, this is great, as actually moving a vacuum with super suction on deep carpet is a chore.

Have a generic battery unit for small jobs.

Comparing a Dyson to a Miele is like comparing a Yugo to a Porsche

Have a Dyson Animal. Really cant complain about it. Thing works great. Only issue I have with it is, the exhaust blows towards the front and downward. But then again our Hoover Paws does the same thing.. Why would you blow away the stuff you are trying to pick up?? Guess the engineers didnt think that one out..

.

We’ve had our Dyson DC10 Animal for probably about 25 years. It gets a workout every time we use it due to our dog and cat, and it has never missed a beat. The only maintenance required is to clean the brush rollers occasionally of hair and carpet fibers. Maybe things have changed with recent products but ours has been flawless.

Our Miele is not much, if any better than our old Dyson.

pmax 11-11-2021 09:37 AM

It’s always user error with these.

That is the only explanation.

After a new carpet install I have my guys vacuum with a brush upright. I bought the top of the line Dyson. It lasted 2 months. The $500. Miele has been abused for years, been back for warranty repair once and is still going strong. My guys said it picks up new carpet fiber much better than the Dyson too. I bought one for the house and my wife thinks it's the best vacuum she's ever had. Happy wife, etc.
For sand and finish hardwood installs we use a Fein dust free back pack. Very expensive but it's the Rolls Royce of vacuums

If you like Miele, you will love the SEBO. Bomb proof machine.

That was option one. I chose option 2 because I wanted it to be a surprise. Namely they send me a new battery(2-7 day delivery). As in honey I got your birthday present but it is not working. If the battery is not here in 7 days then I will take the vacuum back to Costco and get another.

"I got you a defective birthday gift but don't worry I'll fix it in a week"

Your wife must be rather different to every woman I ever knew.
More power to you.

Ha! I was just going to say I have two Miele vacuums. The cordless one is for the downstairs office. Works really great.

I have an Electrolux Aerus at home. I just don't buy crap vacuums. I despise vacuuming that's why.

We got a corded shark a few years ago. Liked it so much I bought sharks for the office and a second for the house (pet allergy, for our bedroom). They feel, to me, built much better than the Dyson and they’re cheaper.

We do have a Dyson handheld cordless for small spills and it works fine. It wouldn’t inspire me to buy a corded for the house though.

Mickey mouse appliances ... but you already know the rest.

chapo 11-12-2021 07:32 PM

Dyson- big money for something that should suck, but doesn't

recycled sixtie 11-16-2021 01:21 PM

I received the new battery for the Dyson V10, charged it up and everything is working fine. My wife is ecstatic about it and she says it is better than jewellery or anything. Each one to their own. :)

And that is Victory! :)

Shark. Ain't perfect but for the price, tough to beat.

flipper35 11-17-2021 11:47 AM

We bought a Dyson Animal back in 2007. Worked great until about a year ago when it started having issues with what appears to be the switch, but after taking it apart and testing I think it is the power cord deep inside so we bought another. The old one still works intermittently still.

The things will pull the carpet off the tack strip if it isn't tucked in correctly.

After we bought ours we were helping mom and dad clean up for a family get together and now she and my sister both have one.
