decent source for laptop replacement battery for a Mac
My wife's Macbook Air that's 7 years old has a battery that's getting a bit dodgy. I'd like to replace it. I think pretty much any battery I get without paying the Apple folks to put theirs in is going to be Chinese, so I'd like to at least get the best Chinese knock-off battery that I can get.
Amazon is littered with $33-50 batteries. iFixit sells there's for $80. I suspect a big part of their price is that they are a fairly well known name. Anyone have any thoughts or experience in replacement batteries? |
They are probably all coming from the same place, even the $80 one. Find one on Amazon that has consistent reviews and go with it.

Agrees with your thoughts. |
Wow, when I check Amazon, pretty much every battery I check has 8-9" 1 star reviews for batteries that were crap. But then I guess as long as it's Prime, I can return it and get a replacement.

I have to get my batteries off eBay, because Amazon doesn't like to ship batteries to Hawaii. |
