First day of snow, yuk
|
I hear ya.
Got around 5-6 inches here Fri. into Sat. |
I'll take snow over rain any day.
|
The first snows are great because it's all so white.
After they add the sand and salt....not so much. |
I just gotta.....
72 degrees and beautiful blue skies here, just like yesterday. We have yet to have have a hard freeze. We have elephant ears still growing. Maybe 75 degrees on Friday here. I am loving it. Last winter sucked major big time. I like this weather. |

70 and sunny. I hate summer here in South Texas but 'winter' is not too bad. But also lived in 'South' Canada aka Northern NY for a few years. Loved that too. |
Drove to the Quad Cities Saturday morning to visit the step-daughter and granddaughter. There was no snow, but there must have been some precipitation Friday night / Saturday morning. Saw two rolled over trucks, first one was an older Ranger, probably lost it on a bridge that was iced up, that truck looked like it rolled more than once. Second one was a F150, not sure what he did to lose it but the cab was crunched on that one as well.

My 996 was my DD in DC metro and my e30 M3 was my DD living in Northern Bavaria Germany until an M5 took its spot. Had a second set of wheels with mounted snow tires for all 3. No problems after that. |
Also in Vermont not far from Pete3799...had the 944 out this morning (15F temps), with its fresh fill of Mobil 1 0W40 and a set of new Blizzak WS-90's...and all is well! Having just rebuilt the engine, I'm pretty confident that the oil will stay put (fingers crossed!)
ps...Yellowperil I love that color! Looks turquoise-ish...but maybe Adventurine Green? Something else? |
74, clear, sunny, & calm here right now and going to stay the same for the next week according to the forecast. It feels like we're not going to have a winter here.

We got enough snow on the weekend that the grand daughter was able to muck about on her cross country skis. The rain took it all off today.
I didn't have to fire up the tractor and blower so I'd call that a win-win. The crappy weather means the wife isn't chomping at the bit to get outside. We're less than two weeks past her surgery and she's starting to get a little shack happy. Best Les |
A dusting of snow here last Saturday
Very unusual weather for us as I can't remember it ever snowing in Nov. Got a fresh set of snow tyres arriving tomorrow so it can snow all it wants |
I won't post a photo of my thermometer for the back yard. I don't need y'all hatin' me for the weather I'm having to endure right now.
|
Its in the high 60s today in Central Florida. I won’t say brrrr. :D

72° and sunny but we would trade it in a minute for rain or snow even though it doesn't snow here |
At least you have green grass, Greg.
There's a drought happening down here so we don't waste water on our grass. As I tell my neighbors with green lawns, you can't drink green grass. |

We moved from Upstate NY to the South about 31 years ago . I can honestly say I do NOT miss the snow . The days of shoveling and running a snow thrower while freezing my a$$ off are a distant memory . Exactly how I want it 😁
|
Its not so much the snow and cold that sucks its the short dark days and the sun not coming out for 6 months

Well look at the bright side of it. It saves you all the trouble of painting your driveway white.

Another layer of paint on mine this afternoon. Might have to get the walk-behind paint peeler out tomorrow morning. |
Pic taken just now from the kitchen window....turtle pond on the deck.

^^^ I slid the window open to take the pic and the flash was on.
Funny how it made some of the flakes look so big. It was snowing hard. |
Send it!
We haven't had precip since September and, though we have a ski area in town, it was 60F today. The CO ski areas are barely open (WROD - white ribbon of death). I'm getting sick of watering my trees and other things to get them through, year after year lately. This weather pattern sucks. Perhaps Seattle/Vancouver could donate some water? |
74 degrees and sunny @ Newport Beach CA.
Getting ready for Xmas boat parade. |
70° here today in Lincoln Nebraska. Odd weather for the end of November. Going to be in the 60s for the rest of the week. On the other hand, it’s nice to be able to get out on one of the motorcycles this time of year.

People pay me $50 to $70 per Christmas tree to have fake snow added to them.

Same here in Swedistan. Record cold and lot of snow.
Santa Greta can go f..k herself. |
I don't mind the snow. Clearing snow, even with powered equipment, I usually sweat too much and everything goes in the wash only to be wet again in a day or so. One thing I will not miss are my snow boots. I gave them away since I only use my leather hunting boots for snow stuff.
One year was bad though. I don't miss that. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1638296778.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1638296778.JPG |
