I have not bought from BHCC, but have gone there to view cars. The sales person was helpful and let me poke around the cars on a lift. In the end, we were too far apart on price to make a deal. The car descriptions in their ads are usually pure rubbage, but the pictures they post depict the real state of the car. They get some cars that are in very bad shape, which seem to have been pulled from a lake. Just go into the deal knowing the car needs "one of eveything". Others on Pelican may have a different experince. The Pelican search function will likely provide a lot of info.

If you are serious about one of their cars, then have it professionly inspected. If BHCC won't allow it, then walk away.

I would be VERY VERY CAREFUL. Personally I’ve had no dealings with them, but have friends that have. Based on their input, I’d never buy a car from them.

They are flippers.

Cars go out the way they came in.

They may clean stuff for the photoshoot but that's the extent of it.

If the car is attractive because it's cheap by normal standards, what did they pay for it and why did they get it so cheap?

I personally wouldn't buy from them. Their sales guy would come to out local porsche coffee and tire kicking events to try and buy from some of the owners. I drive by their place if the fwy is jamed up on my way to my mother's home. I see a lot of different type of cars in there, some in really bad shape, some look to be OK. Buy from a private party is what I always suggest.

If I was local, I would certainly stop in (probably frequently) and kick some tires. They have had a few cars over the years that piqued my interest.

He might accidentally get a good car from time to time...it could happen.

Alex Manos bought my ‘61 XKE from me. That car was a nut and bolt restoration and he paid me a decent amount. A good guy to deal with in my experience.

I used to stop by there every so often. It was near where I worked.
Saw some cars in great condition and some were dogs.

But their selection was awesome.

Alex seems like a nice guy. I gave him a chance to buy my car but in the end we were a thousand dollars apart. The thing was that he was going to buy my car without seeing or driving it. That kind of made me nervous.

That’s his business model.

Alex bought my brothers 57 220SE sight unseen.

Asked for a bunch of pics, they made a deal, money wired same day, sent a truck to pick it up.

If you are selling a car and want a quick hassle free sale and you leave some meat on the bone for him he’s the real deal.

I used to work in the area and would stop by to look at stuff. I honestly don't think I've ever seen more then a few cars I would spend my money on. Seems like most need complete restorations.

I have a car from them. It needs to have the story told on it, but it was a "find", they had no idea what they had. I had been looking for the car "hard" for a decade, and I had all the original paperwork on the car. This was a few years ago.

They had a few other cars that were interesting when I was verifying "my" car (i had found it on their website) in person.

If you need a project car, they have a lot to choose from. Prices keep going up here and there, look at 912's from them from a couple of years ago. Hard to have a crystal ball, but if you want a project they have a bunch of them.
