I wonder what kind of an impact the weight of the riders' ballz have on machine acceleration, braking and overall handling?!

The crazy English... God love them :)

I'd be going through somebody's house on the first lap.

You have better aim than I. I'd be going through a stone wall or hedge.

Steve Carlton 12-10-2021 08:44 PM

Hedge sounds good.

You say that like I would have any choice in the matter.

Rowan Atkinson put his MacLaren F1 through a hedge.

Spectacular.

Big brass balls is a weak description for IoM racers.

flatbutt 12-11-2021 06:52 AM

That looks exhausting. Those are the only guys I know of that are so close to red line so consistently.

herr_oberst 12-11-2021 07:13 AM

This kind of bravery is incomprehensible to me. It's on the same scale as free-climbing mountaineers.

VINMAN 12-11-2021 08:10 AM

Always liked the old Joey Dunlop footage of that race back in the 80's

This vid is amazing. I couldn't even imagine going half the speed running into the sections with all the shadows cast from the trees. you can barely make out where the road is.

I'm so glad in this day and age of over zealous health and safety restrictions an event like this is still allowed to run

Bill Douglas 12-11-2021 11:47 AM

I felt a bit ill watching that.

I tried driving the old abbreviated version in Grand Prix Legends but couldn't get through it without crashing even at slower speeds.
If you want to see how difficult the track is in a video game...

IOM videos of racing carts are also enjoyable to watch . Crazy speeds with no run off areas is scary .

Sidecars are my favorite kind of crazy to watch.
