the perfect snack...for me

I love salted nuts.....Especially cashews and pistachios.
Cashews are pricey and I hate shelling pistachios.

Now they sell 'no shell' pistachios in 4 diff varieties. They are all good. I like the BBQ ones the best. The other varieties are salt & vinegar, honey roasted, and chili roasted.
The chili ones are a little too hot for me.

All the varieties are excellent paired with Two Hearted Ale.

I've been munching on the green bag variety for a while now. They pair very nicely with yogurt too.

I like to munch on Pistachios everyday with a little shot of something.
If they were already shelled I'd be a fatter drunk that I already am!

That is a problem...they are so easy to eat when shelled. I usually pour about a quarter cup into a small bowl and eat them with a spoon. When the portion is gone...I'm done.

Costco sells salt and pepper pistachios in the shell, too addictive.
May try this next time.

Well I can't stand fake BBQ flavor and same for chili flavor. Yogurt is one of my fav condiments.

Ah, I only use plain or vanilla yogurt. I'll dice up an apple or peach or pear if I want fruit in it.

Something about pre-shelled pistachios ruins the "ceremony" for me. Killer convenience for the pistachio brittle I make every christmas though.

I grab a bag or two of the XX-hot red on my way to the airport when I'm going to the UK for business. They really dig these over there and I kind of like them too...

This thread is pure evil .... EVIL! Y'all have been warned!

Pistacio shells serve a great purpose .... sorta like speed bumps.

The chile ones are a bit hot solo, and the BBQ ones don't suck, but mixed together in a big ol' container ... pure, unadulterated EVIL.

I might need too add a bag of the salt & vineger ones to the mix .... next time. These are not gonna last that long

I'm too cheap...I can't see paying for the shells.
Whenever I buy the un-shelled ones...about every fifth one isn't cracked enough to get your thumbnail between.

Forgot that I have some vanilla yogurt to try with them. Will find out during the ball game this afternoon.

I gave up on that method (no self-control) and limit their use to being a non-salted salad topping in lieu of croutons.

WARNING: there is a pistachio based snack with pomegranate, dried cranberries and almonds near the checkout counter at Meijer. It killed my stomach because of the excessive black pepper in it. Keep away from it if you have a sensitive tummy.

^^^ That sounds good...I'll check it out.

It's funny, but Meijer doesn't carry the ones I show in the op. I can only get them at Walmart.
