re: space 1999

I loved that show as a kid. The ships were so cool... Had one as my fav' toy... Wish they remade it, it's hard to watch now..

The trailer for MOONFALL makes it look a lot like "2012" meets "Armageddon" meets "Deep Impact".

IMHO, no lunar disaster/invasion movie beats "Iron Sky" - a movie that is just so incredibly bad that it is entertaining.

I also really have to wonder how much of a market there is for disaster movies these days.

Roland Emmerich does good stuff, especially epic disaster effects. Looks like he did 2012. I'll go see it unless the reviews suck.

I think they enter what looks like a Dyson sphere at the end of the trailer.

... and I'd see it just for Halle alone ;)

Steve Carlton 12-22-2021 06:18 AM

You can catch her in Bruised right now...

vash 12-22-2021 09:39 AM

i universally watch all movies Halle. maybe not Catwoman..

Bruised was an awesome movie!!

Halle directed Bruised and she looked like a real fighter. Such an amazing woman! If she was mine she'd get no sleep. ;)

I'll pass, but Halle has been looking great as Cleopatra.

If you're wanting moon stuff, netflix has the silent sea... Korean with $$ special effects, looks good for a deserted moon base. Not awful...

stevej37 01-31-2022 10:22 AM

Thanks... I'll check it out.

Just came back from seeing it after cancelling last night due to weather. Fun movie, the first 3/4 is like watching a movie from the 80s with bad sets and writing, but still entertaining. Last part was a nice surprise ending. Probably wouldn't pay to see it but definitely a good home movie.

You do have a point there???? I would imagine that because we are living through a disaster of epic proportions, there maybe not much of a mkt.

Why pay to go see a disaster when you can live one for free. Unless of course you consider it to be educational in that you might learn a trick or two to survive?
