Love my little French hot hatch. 2005 Megane 225 Cup.

sc_rufctr 12-21-2021 03:17 AM

I just watched it and thought it was fantastic.
Really funny in parts and I thought Abbie Eaton the racing driver was rather hot. :)

I wondered how many of us could relate to the specific content as the French were so unsuccessful in the US.?

Yeah I get the attempts at humor on their part, lockdown and all, but it would have been beter had they also showed the cool new french cars not available here.... The latest hot hatches, the new peugeot 508 (stunner) and most of all the new Alpine A110... Instead they went for slapstick as usual - they are done...

As I said clarkson's farm is not bad, and also Hammond's shop has potential... used to be on youtube but maybe they took it down

I like James May's stuff- - Japan, Cars, of the People, Toy Story are all good.

PS funny interview.

James May's stuff is good, loved his toy series.

I thought it was great. Who wouldnt love to to trash a few cars in the woods like they did, looked like fun to me. Lol.

FYI... "Carnage À Trois" means "Threesome Carnage".

Humor was Brit slanted too. You need to understand some of the cultural touchstones to get all the jokes.

Probably why brits canucks and aussies liked it but yanks not so much.

Some funny moments, but yes they are getting old and a bit stale... If you want good Clarkson, watch Clarkson's farm ! no, really, it's good !

It's a great show with real people too, Kaleb and Gerald are both locals

HobieMarty 12-26-2021 05:46 PM

I thought it was funny when Clarkson mentioned that most of the CXs left had been turned into motorhomes, making a reference to the one that he turned into the leaning tower of Citroen on an episode of Top Gear. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b99b47b6c6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9c9d52d47b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5be71f40be.jpg

Amazing how smoothly that Citroen rode.

GH85Carrera 12-27-2021 07:21 AM

I think mush of the program was the British love of poking fun at anything French. The British don't eat French toast, it is "eggy toast" French Fries are just chips. Some of the humor was certainly over the heads of most Americans that don;t understand a little of the British humor and disdain for the French way of everything.

It was not their best show, but I enjoyed it.

The SM was a very futuristic looking car for it's day, I had a Matchbox Citroen SM when I was a kid and thought it was super cool.
