My first question. If they have such a huge problem with this guy, how was he elevated through the rank to the position hes in now?? :confused:

"Arsonists" in the fire service is a thing that unfortunately occurs pretty frequently. One big problem is, many of these arson convictions occur when they are minors. They are charged, then placed in a Juvenile Fire Setter program. Once they become of legal age, the record is wiped and can no longer be used.

Wasn't he appointed to his current position by the same board of supervisors?

Not sure how it works on that jurisdiction. Most officers in Volunteer depts, are voted on and appointed by the membership.
