lit round toggle switch?

The tiny 3/4" round ones. Know of any that are lit but another indicator may come on telling the operator that it is on. I like them dim enough without staring into LED hell. I have to drive through some very, very dark and narrow streets up to my house. One street light at each intersection if we are lucky but that's the charm. My big old truck can barely make some of the turns so I installed a set side shooters Rigid fog lights. They aren't on with normal driving because we have plenty of lights on our streets and fwys. My problems is, the left side of the dash is so dark that I have to feel for the tiny switch and half the time, I can't find it. By the time, I get to the damn thing, I already smashed into someone's trash can or done with the turn. Any suggestions. found nothing on Amazon, plus most are junk.

Red Beard, That's a lot of switches. I scan through them quickly, but haven't seen any yet, but will dive deeper into those places later. Thanks.

Hey Dave, Staying dry out there?

I drilled a round hole to fit one of those tiny switches on the left side of the dash only to discovered that no light aint no good in the dark for me

rusnak 12-28-2021 09:50 PM

I installed a lot of these.

The rectangular hole is pretty easy to cut.

What about putting an led in the dash next to the switch.

Looks like it will have to be a toggle switch instead of a small button. Now I have to think about cutting up the dash for this.

If you hit the led with a bit of paint/nail polish, it makes for a much less obnoxious light.

That’s the one I used for a project.
It would work well for what you’re looking to do.
It’s easy to wire up to do what you want, I.e. to be illuminated even when the lights are off.
The instructions are on my second post here:

https://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/1108432-wiring-illuminated-switch-ground-side-possible.html

You could wire yours up like the bottom picture, it should work.

look 171 12-29-2021 03:34 PM

wow, dang. Those looks like it will work even if they don't light up when the device is turned on. I can deal with that. Thanks again Tim and McLovin.

This is for my Chevy truck also

McLovin 12-29-2021 05:48 PM

On Amazon for $8

The silver nut of course goes behind your panel. So it’s a nice, clean and small install.
