I think this air fryer thing is legit

We have a small inexpensive version. Shaped like a teardrop I guess. We never put oil in it. I’ve used it to reheat all manner of things that turn out great. Pizza (one slice just fits) is fantastic reheated.

Well yesterday I reheated the breast, with skin, from a rotisserie chicken. BETTER than when my wife picked it up! Skin was crispy and meat was not dried out.

Virtually zero clean up and short cook times since it’s so small....it really is the ideal reheating tool.

Absolute best thing I've found, short of putting a pizza on a grill, to reheat pizza. I've done hot pepper cheeseballs in ours but I still like the oil fried better. Hash browns (the oval or rectangular style) turn out great. French fries... also really good. And as you said, reheating rotisserie chicken really crisps the skin up. My wife and son have done steak in ours. Seems wrong to me on so many levels.

Yep...same here. When our oven croaked we got one with an air fryer function. We use the teardrop for small things. Just get one...you won’t be disappointed.

I guess I'm gonna be that guy, 46-going-on-66 years old, and say that I don't get it.

(1) reheated pizza? Excuse me, from the day the earth cooled - leftover pizza is eaten cold, in your bathrobe (at most) and over the sink. Those are the rules, they cannot be broken.

(2) IDK what this can do that my skillet, pressure cooker and convection oven cannot already do - and those are already here and paid for. In this spirit I'm evil-eying the slow cooker collecting dust in the basement. And the electric skillet thing we bought for some stupid reason.

The pizza rule only exists because there was no go way to reheat it. Now that the air fryer exists.... man has evolved. Don't get me wrong we still eat the pizza in a bath robe but we just have better pizza.

It's just a smaller convection oven with a better fan I guess, so if you have no more counter space...

OK - maybe this might get my (wayward/lost/poor choices) wife from microwaving the stuff. Truly, I hope I should be her only poorly thought out choice... Her name ends in PhD but sometimes I wonder when that soggy flabby slice comes out after the "bing".

The gf got me an instant pot, that I didn't want, but have found to be really useful... Then she got me the air fryer accessories lid, for the instant pot I didn't want and have found that to be really useful as well..

If you can’t reheat pizza in an oven, turn in your man card now.

Yeah, we have an air frier, kids use it all the time, I have no idea how to use the thing. I actually like cold pizza and cold fried chicken though.

An electric skillet is excellent for stripping paint off hardware using lye.

That's where ours ended up. Slow cooker is next.

Just out of curiosity, what temperature do you shoot for and what concentration of lye do you use?

I reheat in my cast iron pan whenever I'm feeling fancy (or entertaining).

Pizza is best reheated in a saute pan on low heat. Crust gets crispy again and top gets hot. Options include light film of olive oil and or butter in the pan.

Why buy another piece of Chinese made junk?

You can also put it on the bottom rack of an oven, then turn the oven on. The bottom heating element will crisp the crust while the oven comes up to temperature.

I talked with my friend in Shanghai the other day, he said the CCP will have another corona virus ready to go with only 1000 more air fryers sold in the US.

2 minutes max in an air fryer and the pizza crust comes out crispy and cheese melted to perfection. Air fryer for the win!

hobiemarty mentioned fried chicken. I swear KFC's chicken is better the next day when reheated in an air fryer.

The beauty of the air fryer is it's quick. AND you don't have to clean it all the time. A few minutes for left over pizza and it's better than the night before.

No magic needed. Cold water and time will do the same. If the water makes the skin on your hands slippery and hard to rinse off, you have enough.

1 cup to 1 gal is plenty strong in boiling water. Expect quick results and carefully watch certain metals and metal plating. Not too good for AL, zinc and the like. Better for steel, iron, brass (copper and bronze incl) and chrome.
