Windows 10 update/restart issue
I am considering upgrading to Windows 11 from Windows 10 on a current (I7) HP laptop.
Prior to doing it I decided to install normal Windows 10 updates. For the past hour I have gotten this restarting graphic (the red color is a color scheme the wife did and doubt it has to do with my problem) After 1 hour I did a hard reboot but upon start up received the same Restarting graphic. Any ideas ? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1640973874.jpg |
You never made a restore drive? I'm not a pc guru, but googled this:

Yes. . . it looks like I may have to do that.

I've had this restarting message for 6-8 hours before and it eventually completes. No idea what its doing but try and let it finish.
If it doesn't complete in 24 hours then you'll need to boot into os recovery menu. Try booting in safe mode, lookup running dism to check and verify os health. Maybe a good time to buy another hard disk and back up this machines image, could be drive is on its way out. |
Thanks. I’ll be patient and see what happens

What zakthor said. If you haven’t done any updates in a while, it takes forever for it to install and restart. I had the same problem when I did the windows 11 update. Left it overnight and everything was fine the next morning.

My MIL's computer is really old, and some of the updates take hours.

It’s the bloody red.
