The more you read the worse the story gets.

What a loser. Sadly, he's probably doing his best to produce a new version. I can only hope the kid can outgrow his loser dad.

happened at a soccer game around here not long ago

When I was a freshman in HS I was playing soccer with the JV team and one of the guys on my team (Jason) jumped up to head the ball at the same time that a kid from the other school tried to do the same. The sides of their heads hit each other and Jason came down on his feet while the player from the other team went down on his knees holding his head. The ref blew the whistle to stop play right away, and the trainer from my school ran onto the field at the same time as one of the parents from the sideline.
I (and I think everyone else) figured the parent running onto the field was the injured player's dad running out to check on him/comfort him. It was indeed the injured kid's dad, but he ran straight past his own kid and punched Jason square in the face, breaking his nose. Now that I am older and coach youth soccer, this is something I have to keep an eye out for. Wild. |
I coached NJB all star kids for a long time. In tournament play, I've seen an off duty cop as a coach target our best player and get caught by the ref. As the opposing coach, I asked what happened.
The targeted kids parent heard and the cop coach pulled his gun from a gym bag to stop the confrontation that occurred. Pandemonium ensued. Read about the scandal @ Mater Dei, football team, the CA state champs, team locker room ritual leaves kid with brain damage. |
Speaking of bad parenting and basketball, I find this infinitely more disturbing than the OP's original story.
