This is getting old
You can PARF this if you want, but this is getting old. We have City Market in Aspen, which is Kroger, but the mountains version. The shelves have been empty since November now. This is the pasta sauce section, I just needed some pasta sauce for the kid to make some spaghetti. He also wanted a Caesar salad. He's kind of particular about his sauce, he's a picky eater, but regardless the shelves are bare, there is no salad (the pre mixed kind) there is no french bread. Basically there is canned stuff and nothing else.
Obviously there is still sauce in the picture but its the stuff no one wants like the odd vodka an garlic herb. Most of the shelves look like this. Is this a Colorado thing? Is this a COVID thing? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641082737.jpg |
When I see an empty shelf and a 'reduced price' tag, I assume shoppers are simply takeing advantage and overstocking. But I sure as hell would have bought a half dozen jars of that Newman's Own for a buck a pop.
No, it doesn't make any sense. |
My king soopers here had NO. No. milk. for about 5-6 days. A couple pints of heavy cream and plenty of MALK. Weird stuff.

Weird times.

It's like that in Phoenix, show low, ect. Shelves be empty. Almost as if people can't afford to eat out anymore.
Which is fine as the only things left are the higher end products. I'll be bourgeoisie for my canned veggies and tuna. |
Went to Kroger yesterday to get game supplies and wife wanted a specific Italian sweet creme creamer for her coffee. They had plenty of beer to choose from but they didn't have her creamer and the case was nearly empty. I've not really paid much attention, but yeah, can't find certain items. I take Lipton Citrus Green Tea to work for my drink at lunch and we haven't been able to find it in the individual bottles in many months now so we get the larger bottles and I fill up a couple of small bottles from the big bottle. We make do.

It's like that here too. The wife wants a certain brand alfredo sauce, it's been out for months. Same with a lot of things. She wants some frozen fish patties, but they're out of her brand and she won't buy another brand. Other things she will substitute. Sometimes the cheap bread is out or almost out but there's always some sort available if you're willing to pay for it. We're the dairy state so there's always milk, but it's about 50% higher than before.
I don't drink a lot of pop, but when I do I look for caffeine free. Back in 2020 we had no caffeine free coke for months and months, finally found some in 2021, bought a 12 pack. Now it's almost gone and guess what, everyone is out again. Not a big seller apparently so they shut down the line. I guess I'm back to root beer. |
Shelves were stocked at City Market in Carbondale a few days ago as well as Whole Foods in Basalt.
But more to the point, I was out there all week and you didn't PM me? Would have meet up and bought you a beer or three. |
It's a Colorado thing. Shelves here are stocked full and a lot of stuff is on sale I noticed today. I thought that was odd.
There's no food inflation here either. Regular milk has been $3.99/gallon and Horizon organic $6.49/gallon for years and still is. Lobster has gone up to $12.99/lb though. |

Starting to think you guys don't like me. |
Local issue. Zero shortages here in central OH. I wonder if has something to do with truckers worrying that they will get sent to prison for 110 years over an accident....?

I'm not sure about isolated Regional. I was in a costco in the Midwest. Had about half the products you can get in phx. Funny to see 3 pallets of the same soda/drinks. No Kirkland brand TP. |
Everything fully stocked here, except we couldn't find eggnog.
Must've been a poor nog crop this year... |
Astound here most of the grocery stores seem to be pretty well stocked, but there are usually a few things missing. Nothing like in your pic though.
|
Lol, OP, despite who may be the ultimate owner, there is a difference between a super market and a grocery, or even an independent grocery. Just got back from NSB, the dollah general 'market' offerins of fixins, nada, but go to the pube-bix more closer to the bridge n, walla.
