Way too many to list.
Went to Monterey Pop in 67, some amazing sets, Otis Redding, Jimi, Janis, then a week later in Haight Ashbury saw the Dead play in Golden Gate Park. Back home in LA... Glen Frey and Don Henley playing in a small bar in Redondo Beach. Nobody knew who they were. Allman Bros in '71 at the Whiskey. Most recent was Peter Frampton in a small casino in Indio. Never went back in the 70s-80s.... unbelievable guitar player! |

I saw Talking Heads two nights in a row in 1983 at the Pantages Theater. They filmed the movie "Stop Making Sense" during these shows. It was a fantastic show for sure...

Central Park... I'm that dude 20 rows back that can't dance...

James Brown was the best show I ever saw. Better than the Stones and the Beatles.

This Leon Russell Medly In The concert For Bangledesh Is Epic |
As a new dad to my wife's then 15 YO son and 10 YO daughter I thought I was pretty cool to have a Bryan Adams cassette tape before they did. Same with Billy Squire who kinda rocked me. So Billy was coming to Irvine Meadows to open for Queen. I got 4 tickets then in 1982.
Billy came out and did one hell of a show. He rocked the place. I said after the set and maybe one encore, "Well, that's good enough for me, we can go home." Billy was everything I thought. Well hell no. Queen took at least 30 minutes to set up and I was getting anxious. Probably a little high from the cloud. You know I ain't smoking with my wife and kids. Lights go out and then something happened I'd never seen. Lasers. Fanned out and rising and falling like palm fronds changing colors. They'd captured LSD in a machine. Then Queen started with an overture segueing into one of their hits. They hit full stride soon after and no one was not standing and going nuts. They tore the place apart. Freddie had just cut his hair short and he looked slightly chunky wearing a wife beater shirt. Then that came off. But how that guy could sing — all of them — doing songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody." Pure magic. The sound engineer nailed it for an open venue and it wrapped you up like a blanket. Sure glad we stayed. Yep, the best. This is not the Queen concert, just a snap of the amphitheater. https://www.ocregister.com/wp-conten....10.jpg?w=1200 |

Somebody hit a few rails in the dressing room before he hit the stage. (The rest of the band waits and watches expecting the heart attack...)

Simon and Garfunkel's Concert in Central Park would have been a great show to attend.
I have seen more than my share of great shows, but the two that stand out in my memory are Crosby Stills and Nash at the Spokane Opera House (super-intimate) and Jethro Tull (tightest band I ever saw) at the Performing Arts Coliseum in Pullman WA. |
Jethro Tull War Child at the Nassau Coliseum mid 70's. I know I was there but it's a bit hazy.
