Fun facts:
-Willie was the first NHL player to break the color barrier. The next black player didn't come until 1974.

-He was blind in one eye but didn't tell anyone because he knew they wouldn't let him play.

-Willie has been honored is many ways and places including numerous halls of fame, a sports arena in his hometown, and a Boston street hockey rink named after him.

-At the age of 85 he is actively involved (not just a celebrity spokesperson) in getting kids to play hockey and travel all round the country. He is respected for encouraging dedication, confidence, diversity and inclusion. He travels all around the country.

That is cool. I've been to three retirement games, Eddie Giacomin, Ken Daneyko and Marty Brodeur.

All are legends although if the ceremony was anything like the way Brodeur played; it was slow and boring!

Well he did lose his **** and wept! Giacomins was the most epic. I got to meet my idol Emil Francis the Cat himself. We cheered Eddie forever man.

I watched on TV when he cut the net out of his goal.
(To be clear Brodeur is a giant among goaltenders but his game play encouraged very slow, low scoring games. I believe his game play was why they put the trapezoid behind the goal line).
