Ok, wow. Not sure what to think about this. I guess we can now chat with ai at Replika.ai
|
...just freaky.....
|
Isn't though?!
|
I see it asks for one's preferred pronoun.
For some of us, there's no need to look further. _ |
Is this like AOLiza from the internet heyday?
|
The first thing I would ask my Replika is if it dreams of electric sheep. I've always wanted to know that.

On a whim, I checked it out a few months back. Pretty interesting. Had a long conversation about sentience and free will.
"Yes! I like Electric sheep *wink*" was the response to the question. |
Oh no... the Internet has corrupted me and my mind immediately races to other less benevolent uses.
|
ran the routine, started the talk to the ai.
ffs it's boring as hell |

I spent a little time trying to figure out who/what is behind this thing:
https://replika.ai/about/story https://www.linkedin.com/in/eugenia-kuyda-638a8a1b/ https://techcrunch.com/2016/04/08/luka-with-4-42-million-in-series-a-releases-ai-powered-chat-bots/ Not sure I understand the commercial potential unless it's to develop 'bots capable of providing basic psychological counseling. Remember - If it's free, then you are the product... |
As usual, people who sign up for free stuff are the product, not the customer. They have your IP address, email address, and browser finggerprint and tracking cookies. On mobile, I wouldn't be surprised if the app phones home with all sorts of info.
|
well they can have my bogus email
spoofed ip incognito browser finger print and non existing cookies |

I wonder if this ai app is funded by the stimmy bill where they earmarked domestic terrorism surveillance $$$$...... |
