I'm not really up on my discount airlines; does Frontier suck anything in the same universe as Spirit? There has to be a pecking order for these things, I'm just not familiar with it.

Spirit started out bad..but has improved greatly over the years.
Frontier is about where Spirit started at...IMO

Last year Spirit led all airlines on 'on time' rating.
Plus they are normally half the cost of the others.

Spirit as an airline overall is great. Great newer airplanes and good people..

It's the low cost clientele that continuously makes the news ..

I always thought the Frontier was much smaller though.. I would have thought that Spirit would buy out Frontier and not the other way around..

I use Spirit at least a dozen times a year and have never had any problem.
Sure, the people flying aren't wearing suits and might look a little rough....but if I can't live with that for 2-3 hours, I should stay home.

I've never felt that I needed a meal served to me either. I'd rather eat before..or after.

Here is the question I ask. WHY would anyone invest in an airline? Seems to be the most volatile and prone to problems of any industry. Terrorism? Fuel cost? Labor? Bad luck? All can impact a super thin margin.

Whenever I fly into FLL...i'm amazed at how many gates Spirit has to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
I flew out of there to the Panama Canal a couple years ago...great trip.

And no...there were no chickens on board. (I have had that on American Airlines in Mexico)

In all the times I've flown Spirit..I've never paid extra for luggage. Just use a large carry-on and store it beneath the seat or in the over-head. If you need more room than that...you're carrying too much.

I’ll have to take your word for it. I only flew them once, long time ago. It was pretty ghetto.
