A Russian dude invented a "light saber"
Very impressive. This guy wanted a light saber, so he invented one and made it. He's in the Guinness book for being the first guy.
Some other guys were working on another that I think is about the same simultaneously. Their finished product seems a bit more polished.

Looks like a hand-held acetylene torch. Wasn’t the actual light saber supposed to be laser?

Little Annie called them a laser sword, but they are contained plasma that acts as a solid.

Light and plasma is pretty much the opposite of a solid.
We will have to wait a few years for gen2.
