The next Nor'easter
'Tis amazing how the patterns have shifted. Used to be that my area got hammered but down the shore not so much.

Our area...close to Lake MI, normally gets hammered. This year has been great.
Never a time that the roads were questionable. |

True-that.... 24 hours ago in Spring Lake http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643407162.jpg |

Back in the 70's I was hitch hiking from Lake Placid to Cape May. I stopped in Spring Lake to eat some lunch in the sun while leaning against my backpack. BIG mistake! The local gendarmes did not take kindly to me napping there inadvertent though it was.

Looks like you guys up in the NW area are getting g off easy this one. Already coming down here on the shore.
. |
It's your turn in the barrel.
|
Looks like it started here around 6 AM. We're supposed to get 24 hours of wind, snow and some freezing rain, just for variety.

Only 3 to 4 inches here. It is wetter than predicted, but yeah I think we're getting off easy.
|
It's coming down at steady clip here in north central Ct. Windy too. Expecting 12-18". Plenty of wood for the fireplace and the generator is ready just in case.
Planing on making a seafood bouillabaisse and downing some oysters. What else is there to do? |
Just finished snowblowing/shoveling 2-3" of dry fluffy snow. Not bad so far.
|
The Pelican forum is broken again BTW.
|
Just got back from the barn. The horses seem to be OK with being inside, out of the wind. Visibility is dropping to about 100 yards. Snow can't help but drift. Wind is supposed to continue until tomorrow.

Tip of the Cape in South Jersey. We had a Blizzard party last night, snow started here around 7PM as a fine dusting didn't change much when we broke up around 11:30PM.
This morning, I woke to about 12" with some drifts to about 24". It shoveled or broomed rather easily; we have had far worse. Can't tell for sure if it is still snowing or if it is just blowing around? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1643484401.JPG |
Yeah, that is kinda what we have. According to the radar the snow has stopped but it is blowing like a SOB out there. The wind is starting to back from NE to NW, which is changing the pattern of the drifting.
That last trip to the barn was rough. Best Les |
Wound up with about 3.5" here on the Western edge of the storm. Piece of cake.
|
Same up this way but it was not light. Odd given how low the temps were here.
|
It was very light snow here...cleaned the cars off with the leaf blower.
|
We are in the bullseye for the next storm (Landon) racing across the country....looking at the 10"-16" snow, and a glaze of ice under that on Wed/Thurs in NW Ohio.
