Frequent Forum Problem

First: Thank you, Pelican, for maintaining this site.

That said, in the past few months we have experienced at least three occasions in which the forum "locked up", preventing many from logging in and threads from updating. This seems to happen on Friday.
I don't know if there is a connection, but about 15 years ago my son worked for a company who had hired a new head for their IT department. Every now and then the department head would install software updates on Friday evening, without testing to ensure functionality. On Monday people returning to work would find parts of the system no longer worked.
Probably there is no connection, but if upgrades are being installed on Fridays, please test them first.
Best to all.
Les

Not likely if fhe banner at the bottom of the page is correct. vBulletin 3.8.7 went out of support in 2012.

I work in IT. This happened in Nov, and that was the second or third time. I think this is exactly the same pattern, outrage Fri evening, then forum stuck over the weekend, same issue, posts and new threads can be made, but new threads can't be seen. And quote doesn't work.

I agree, I've been thinking the same thing, someone does maintenance on Fri evening, confirms that they can get to the forums, and then goes to the bar. The forums stay dinar until the IT folks come in on Mon.

I could be wrong. It could also be some sort of job that runs on Fridays.

Been away for a while and decided to visit PPOT over the weekend... immediately saw I was the only one here....

I felt so special .... again :)
