In the best of both worlds:
1). An intake system would pull warm underhood air when warming up to reduce quench misfire.

Heck take that heat off the exhaust and equalize material expansion on both sides.
(Use when under full load to maximize burn efficiency? That doesn't cool the cylinders but it reduces total charge pressures and knock, and a good environment for maximizing lean-burn efficiency...i would think as a random thought..probably bass akwards..)

2). Then switch the intake source to the fresh cold/dense external source when running in closed loop.

I think the one on my Fit could be called either cai or sai.
Beneath the intake is nothing but the road...so I'm sure it gets plenty of cold air. (warm air..not so much)

The filter that I bought for the intake was too large in dia. Now it's fixed..thanks to some tape!
