AR-10/15 attachment piece front forearm
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1644695113.JPG
I have as gas issue with my 6.5 Creedmore AR - need to install a adjustable gas block - however the front forearm and the receiver are connected by right/left components that I've never seen before Any Pelican seen this configuration of connecting the front forearm and receiver? How do I disconnect? thanks kgl |
I have never seen that foregrip and it is quite possible that is proprietary.
Not all "AR10" are created the same. The only real AR10 and somewhat standardized and is designated an AR10 is the Armalite version and even then, there is the a and b versions. The others are AR style DPMS and nonstandard. |
Undo the bolts and pull off.

Better picture(s) would help, but looks like there is a rectangular key where the forend rail and the upper receiver rail meet (to keep the rails registered w/each other). Would lead me to believe the forend probably slips onto the barrel nut rather than threads on, then held in place w/pinch bolts at 6 o'clock. Can't tell from the photo. If you look into the vent holes in the forend rail can you see threads on the outside of the barrel nut? If forend isn't threaded on, you might use some Kroil or other penetrating oil and a few taps with a rubber mallet to see if you can nudge it loose. If it is threaded on, you will probably have to remove the rectangular key before trying to unscrew the forend. HTH |
Thanks all... I contacted the custom shop that made the piece - and they provided the info I needed - turns out there was an additional keeper component located at the opposite side of the two lower bolt holes [large] that needed to be pressed out - did that - and forearm detached -
