High quality streaming

I've had Spotify for many years, dabbled with Tidal when I had a Bowers & Wilkins stereo in a 2018 V90, then went back because Tidal was $25/mo vs $10/mo when I turned in the V90 on a short lease. I just signed up for Amazon Music HD and I couldn't be more pleased. Everything is HD, but almost everything from recent years is streaming in Ultra HD. Also, the lyrics are often displayed as they play, in a small format and also available in a full screen format. For me, this is huge, as I often can't make out the words. There's also links to the music videos. Obviously, there's other services, but these are the ones I'm familiar with. I can also play Amazon on my Sonos app, which is key.

Im currently listening to Jack Johnson on my TV and Sonos on Amazon HD as we speak. I used Spotify for a long time and I think I still pay for a subscription that my sons use(I need to get that out of my name).

One of the reasons I went with Amazon too was their support for FLAC. I play music through a Marantz A/V receiver that supports HEOS. It sounds fantastic.

..........so what are the fees for amazon music streaming? do they have a 'free' version?

I'm paying $84.23 a year for Amazon Music Unlimired. That's discounted because I have Prime. I believe for non-Prime users, it's $10/month. There's a free but limited version with ads, no HD.

I just had a conversation with a guy last weekend about this same subject! :)

What does it take to set up for the Amazon HD streaming. Dac's etc. I've always had
nice Hi fi gear/ home theatre set up.Older Marantz av reciever, older 2008 does have
192kHz/24 bit converters, Dolby digital,DTS/Hd high resolution audio etc. Def Tech
speakers and subs. TCL 6 series tv with Roku. HDMI hooking up my router to the tv.
Using optical connections from the tv to the Marantz. Home theatre stuff is great.
Not sure what or if, with the older reciever I can hook up for UHD streaming.
Firestick, Shield pro Plus ? I have Amazon Prime and can stream the regular music
that is offered thru Prime. Just wondering what it takes to get true lossless, Flac or
UHD.
