A car you have never heard of. Really cool.

I heard of it! My sister had a Jetfire with manual floor shift when I was a teenager. Red with white top (I think they all were). Fun car. She used to have people leave notes on it that they would like to buy it.

Why post a giant video of a video game?

Tervuren 02-23-2022 10:35 AM

Either I need that video game or you need your eyes checked.

I hadn't watched more than a few secs, but all of the colors seemed weirdly consistent and vibrant. It looked like a lot of modern video games. I watched more. The video does have a weird quality that makes it seem unreal, but I concede that it's probably video. I can't imagine a video game that looks like an odd assortment of ordinary cars with numbers on the side like you see in the video.

That's not a video game. That's actual video off my car, going round Spa
not sure why it embedded that big, normally right click embed code in yotube results in smaller window
resized it now

The video is very impressive. The colors, sky, etc... are unreal looking.

Yeah, that was weird that it embedded so large. Anything that I embed always defaults to 560x315. If I want larger I always manually update to either 720x480 or 1280x720. (it seems like there used to be a button or drop down or something that you could hit to select from multiple options).

I don't really see it game looking, just poor processing quality by Youtube

same camera
different track

I always find that what feels fast when you're in the middle of it, often seems REALLY (surprisingly) slow if there's video. Stuff has to usually be race car fast before the video seems fast.

The overlay time tells you if it is slow

Its not
Lens perspective makes it look slower then irl mark1 eyeball

Tervuren 02-23-2022 12:44 PM

Monitor size and view angle both have a lot to do with perception of speed when it comes to onboard.

Wider view angle of the camera and larger monitor both contribute to speed perception.

T'was a joke, my comment was humour ;)

Showing real life speed on a screen is very difficult, low to the ground view perspectives work, anything else just looks slow

svandamme 02-23-2022 01:12 PM

Well green font and smily face would make that more obvious
