Wimbledon Tennis

Some big boy tennis this year. Men's semifinals on now.
The Spanish Bull, Nadal, won a close 5 setter quarterfinal over Del Potro...wow!
.
Cutie Pie, Camila Giorgi (Italy) lost a 3 setter to S. Williams...Boo!!!
Love to watch C. Giorgi walk...OMG!!! What a dish.
Where was she when I was playing USTA? (probably not born yet, geezer)
~~~~~~~~~~~
She plays a high risk game. Hits a hard flat ball...too many unforced errors.
I keep hollerin' at the screen, "More top spin, Camila! More top spin."
.
She's quite shy...yet has that lovely Italian female hot temper.
some outrageous tennis at wimbledon this year, and more to come.
c. giorgi...............
because of her shyness she's not the most popular lady on the circuit. almost too shy to smile much. you can see that she wants that interview (above) to end.
but what a honey! hottest looking lady in the top 50 of world pro tennis. drop dead pretty face.
amazingly, her father (coach) is one ugly dude.
"...grunt fest!"
That's about it, isn't it?!!!
So much more power in today's pro tennis. I guess they need that extra oomph.
I remember Rosco Tanner beating Borg at the US Open quarters with his 100 mph serves.
Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Two games in a row...Borg never flinched. We were awed.
Nowadays it's common for a 135 mph serve and 115 mph forehand ground stroke.
Andy Murray so far has the fastest ground stroke in pro tennis.
126 mph forehand in Cincinnati against Marty Fish. That's pumping it, folks.
Just watched John Isner crack off a service ace winner against Kevin Anderson.
143 mph!
The announcers said nothing so I'm not sure where that speed stands.
Fastest that I've ever heard of, however.
.
BTW, I'm not a fan of watching big servers. The point is over on the serve or the next stroke.
I much prefer watching those who massage the ball and don't have a such giant serve that that's all that they depend on.
Good point. But this lady is far and above Anna K., in my opinion.
Wish I could find a YouTube vid of her walking across the court. Man oh man!
An Elgin movement.
