I feel asleep in a Cathay Pacific club in Shanghai a few years back.....woke up to hearing my name being called over the intercom!! Needless to say a very long run to the gate with two young Chinese girls yelling at me...... good times....

That almost happened to my wife and I when we were flying to Tulsa for my friends wedding in Jan 2020.

The flight out of MCO was delayed for 1 hour, we decided to head to the bar and get a couple of drinks and relax away from the gate lice* who insisted on mucking up the place despite the delay.

45 minutes later we walked back to find an empty gate with no one staffing the terminal.

We stood there panicked, I looked out the window and the jet was still there and the jetway was still connected.

Just then a gate agent popped through the jetway door and said our names. Seems they were paging us but it was not coming through in the bar.

They were holding the damn plane for us. We got some looks walking to our seats.

Our punishment was our checked bags not making it to Tulsa on our flight.

They came in a few hours later on another flight, we had to return to the airport to retrieve them.

Pretty sure big boy there is 2 sheets to the wind. Acting like a 2 year old is not going to get you anywhere. Moron.

So, just flying thru Fla gives you rights to the appellation "Florida Man"? Seems like the juicer sobered him up a bit "I'll do whatever you want". Travel, booze and a floor show.

I am so grateful that there is nowhere I need or want to be badly enough to board an airplane.
Those here who must fly have my sympathy.

^^^ It doesn't happen that often...someone always gets a video when it does.
I fly often and the worst that I have seen is one guy throwing a tantrum when asked to mask-up.

I wonder how many drinks he downed to get in that condition?
With his size...must have been quite a few.

The guy in the red shirt towards the end looked like he wanted to jump in.

My exact thought as well.

The episode could have gone a lot farther south than it did.

No carry on, however, which is nice.

I've been the last one on a plane a couple of times, but I haven't missed a flight. Yet.
Then again, I haven't flown since Rennsport V, didn't go to VI. I imagine things have changed a bit.

I checked in over an hour early once in either Tampa/St Pete or Atlanta, and they gave me the full security check out, there was nobody in line either ahead or behind me.

Had to go back to the gate once, a passenger freaked out and locked herself in the bathroom while we were taxiing out to the runway. Took so long to resolve the flight crew timed out and everybody got to spend the night in a Days Inn in Detroit.

That gate door looks to be the same as a cockpit door.

I noticed also...the airport workers were quietly moving all the sitting passengers away.
Nice work keeping the situ from getting worse.
