2065 years ago today!

The tyrant Julius Caesar was removed from office as Dictator of the Roman Republic.
This saved the republic which went on to enjoy centuries of peace and stability in the Mediterranean area.

Wait, that's not what I remember. The world changed that day but not in the manner that the Roman Senators envisioned.
But it did bring us the western world we know today.

For good or for bad,

Happy Ides of March everyone.

Julius Caesar made a fatal mistake..he thought once he came out on top as a result of the cw Romans would all accept him as being the head Honcho..and they could get on with business. He should of eliminated all those who were opposed to him, realizing that they would never be his friends and could only cause him harm. His Great Nephew Octavius learned the lesson well, where with Mark Anthony 200 of their enemies were proscribed aka murdered after Julius's murder. They then went on to take care of the rest of the murdering crew..Cassius and Brutus at Philippi. Eventually the now Augustus Caesar took care of Mark Anthony and Cleopatra...leaving him as the sole "First Citizen" of Rome for the next 30 some odd years..it is considered to be a Golden Age for Roman prosperity.
