Graduation Symbol

I’m getting ready for 2022 Graduation season and have a question hopefully the brain trust can address. . .

I’m trying to identify the two symbols on the front of my University of Southern California doctoral gown. They look like torches. I want to locate a very clean digital image for some embroidery.

Anyone know the name of the image or where I could possibly locate a good image?

Thanks

It is called athe Torch of Knowledge. It’s your school’s crest. It’s a variation of the university’s crest. https://www.pentagram.com/work/university-of-southern-california-1/story

If you look on your school’s academic home page there should be an image of your school’s crest. Otherwise, if you go to whatever web site USC uses to sell alumni university logo clothes and trinkets you should find mementos with that school’s crest on it.

Ahhhhh. Yes ! USC used to be a Methodist School 100 years ago. You may have solved it. Thanks

Thanks MRM, I spent 4 years as a student and 7 as faculty and never made the connection. I’ve located some very similar images. . . I’ll be able to use one of these.

Thanks again

gorgeous gowns. I've always loved the pageantry and colors of academia. Unfortunately for my discipline (business), the color, "drab,' is well-named. :(

RN , the dark blue is generally some sort of social studies/ philosophy etc. Just curious as to your field.
