I saw that the other day. I'd consider that one a hero. You have to be dedicated and committed to put yourself in that situation. IDGAF that it was a big SUV full of air bags, my thought would be that car hurtling at me head on was going to hurt and had the possibility of causing me injury.

WHat I've wondered about was if it would have been better to have tried to catch the car broadside. My thought on that is that the air bags in a head on would probably be better for you than being wrenched to the side.

I wonder if her first thought was to veer her off to the side and then block her from the front.
The car lady was too drunk/stupid to just go for the side and tried to go straight thru.

Wow

I know that this sort of thing happens fairly frequently (people driving down a blocked road or driving the wrong way on a road/freeway/interstate).

I wonder if this one was suicidal?

I guess there are folks that get so drunk that they don't really have a grasp on reality.

The worst part of the whole thing is the car driver laughing in court. Like it was nothing.
She will be back on the street...driving while drunk.

I hadn't watched the video that you link. I watched it. At least her chuckle wasn't about what she'd done exactly. But yes, she's not likely to be trouble free after this. I'd like to see her get the harshest sentence possible under the circumstances. I'd love to know what the argument is for a plea of "not guilty."

We had a similar situ happen here in Kazoo a few years back.
A drunk driver veered into a group of 10? bicyclists. Killed some..the others seriously hurt.

He showed no remorse in court...the alcohol controlled him.

Yep, another case for fullest punishment possible.

I'm fully behind random dui check stations.

If she would have succeeded, sure. If she missed (which would have been very likely), no. I don't think she had time to set for that, anyway. Thankfully modern crumple zones and airbags minimized the injuries. She's a hero in my book.

Here also.

What I really liked about about the video was the Troopers honesty: "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't".

Absolutely zero bravado...serious Mom move.

The only concern of her...was the walkers on the bridge.
Very commendable.

pcardude 03-13-2022 02:49 PM

That’s a hero.

She needs to be transferred to cover the 'Mustang Cars and Coffee' events. :)
