I owned a 92 16 valve way back. It was my autocross car while my 911 was down. One of my all time favorite cars ever , and I had a really strong season in DSP that year .
I sold it once to purchase a 951, and bought it back , but then let it go for good later on down the road .

Same here, I owned one a long, long time ago.
I had a '90 Jetta GLI 16v around 25 years ago, sold it, bought an Audi A4, some time after that I bought a '91 GTI from a guy in Milwaukee, trailered it back home where it sat in the driveway, it was too good a deal to pass up. I autocrossed it once with rock hard Yokohama A008r tires that were maybe new in 1995. Only drove it on the street a couple of months, I traded the A4 for a 2002 Saab that had been wrecked and repaired, and I waited about 2 months for the title to get processed by the Minnesota DMV. So I transferred the Audi plates to the GTI and drove that.

I don't think there's such a thing as a good original one. If it's from up north the rockers and hatch will have rusted out, and if it's from down south the interior will have crumbled to nothing. Even in 2001-2002 I had to pin up the headliner.
