Anyone use Bose Centerpoint?

My Civic came with a 12 speaker Bose system. One of the selectable audio settings is Bose Centerpoint. With it OFF...I can pinpoint the direction of the diff channels of music. (which is what I'm used to)
With if ON...all sounds seem to come from one spot...but the spot is everywhere.
The clarity seems a tad better with it on...

I'm trying to decide if I like it or not. The tech has been out for about five years, so I imagine there are others here that have had to decide the same.

If so..what did you decide for the setting...on or off?

Gotta be good. Paul Harvey liked Bose.

Or as I heard in a store in Oklahoma... BoseEE The old men discussing also referenced Paul Harvey, circa 1991

Bose blows :D .... I thought everybody knew that ... and I was a HUGE fan of 901s as a teen in the late 70s ;).

Enough of that ... (and I'm not a fan of Bose home audio anymore) .... but I digress....

The very best car audio system I've ever had was the premium Nakamichi/Bose system I had in an older Lexus SC400 ... it was sweet, with a dozen strategically placed tweeters/mids & sub .... and it rocked, but I never had the selection option you refer to. Only you and your ears can decide what you prefer....

Back to home audio....my awesome vintage Polk SDAs (170lbs each) can replicate what you're referring too.... creates a soundstage that you would swear is come from straight in front of you instead of the classic L verses R image, but ya still get that too. Hard to describe and varies by recordings, but melikes it.... and that's all that matters :).

So.... you decide .... and let us know ....

I've had Bose systems in a few diff cars...in fact my 98 Prelude had it when new. And they all had sound that was easy to identify where it was coming from....and I'm used to that.

With the 'Centerpoint'...I can't locate the speaker sounds at all. Very different.

I have a set of Bose aviation headphones. Full over the ear noise reduction headphones with the two connectors to hook into the airplane radio and intercom system. They are really astonishing when you turn the noise reduction on. On a couple of occasions I forgot to turn sound reduction on, and though wow it is noisy in our airplane. Then a Homer Simpson like Doh! and turn on noise reduction. Ahhh.

They are great and almost indispensable for longer flights.

A pic of the on/off choice. Bad pic because of the flash inside the garage.
